The Mouth Rehab in Ashburn, VA offers superbills for speech, feeding, and

myofunctional therapy. Learn how to file for out-of-network insurance reimbursement

step by step.

If you've been searching for a speech therapist, feeding therapist, or myofunctional

therapist in Ashburn, VA or the surrounding Northern Virginia area and you're wondering

whether your insurance will cover it, you're in the right place.

The Mouth Rehab is a private pay, out-of-network provider located in Ashburn, Virginia,

serving families across Loudoun County, Leesburg, Lansdowne, Brambleton, South

Riding, Sterling, and beyond. While we don't bill insurance directly, that doesn't mean

your benefits go to waste.

We accept Health Spending Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts

(FSA), and we're pleased to provide superbills upon request — so you can seek

reimbursement directly from your insurance provider for services like:

  • Speech and language therapy

  • Pediatric feeding therapy

  • Infant feeding support and lactation education

  • Myofunctional therapy for mouth breathing, tongue thrust, and tongue ties

  • Swallowing therapy (dysphagia)

Not sure how to file? We've broken it all down for you.

What Is a Superbill and Why Does It Matter?

A superbill is an itemized receipt that contains everything your insurance company

needs to process a reimbursement claim: your provider's credentials, CPT billing codes, diagnosis codes, and session details. After you pay for your session at The Mouth

Rehab, we provide you with a superbill that you submit directly to your insurer to

potentially get money back.

However, it is important to note reimbursement is not guaranteed and depends on your

individual insurance plan!

Many families in the Ashburn, Leesburg, and greater Loudoun County area are

surprised to find they may cover a portion of their out-of-pocket costs this way —

especially for services like pediatric feeding therapy, oral motor support, and speech

therapy for kids.

Step 1: Call Your Insurance Company First

Before your first appointment, we recommend calling your insurance provider to

understand your out-of-network benefits. Flip your insurance card over and dial the

Member Services number on the back. Ask specifically about Speech Therapy

benefits with an Out-of-Network provider.

Step 2: Ask the Right Questions

To make the most of this call, here's exactly what to ask:

1. Does my plan include out-of-network coverage for speech or feeding therapy?

2. Can I submit a Superbill for reimbursement?

3. Is there a visit limit per year? Is it shared across OT, PT, and ST?

4. Is the visit limit a hard cap?

5. When does my insurance year start and end?

6. Is there an out-of-network deductible I need to meet first? How much has been

met?

7. What are my individual and family deductible amounts?

8. Is pre-authorization required before visits? What's the process?

9. Is an initial evaluation required before ongoing sessions are reimbursed?

10. How do I submit a claim once I have a Superbill? Can I do it online?

11. Are there additional forms required with my claim?

12. How long does claim processing take — and can I appeal a denial?

Note on billing codes: Your insurance may ask for CPT and diagnosis codes. We can't

confirm exact codes until after your evaluation, but here are the ones most commonly

used at The Mouth Rehab:

Myofunctional, Feeding, Swallowing, Oral Motor 92610, 92526

Speech & Articulation 92522, 92507

Step 3: Attend Your Initial Evaluation; Request Your Superbill

After your evaluation, simply request your superbill and follow the claim submission

process your insurance outlined. Most insurers allow online, mail, or fax submissions.

Can You Use HSA or FSA for Speech Therapy?

Yes! Speech therapy, feeding therapy, myofunctional therapy, and related evaluations

are generally considered HSA and FSA eligible expenses. The Mouth Rehab accepts

both HSA and FSA payments, making it easier for Northern Virginia families to access

the specialized care they need.
